MEET INSTRUCTOR JOE

Instructor Joe (Joe Lawson) is a certified Firearm Instructor headquartered in Indianapolis. He has trained hundreds of people in firearm safety, basic handgun, concealed carry, advanced handgun, low light, red dot optics and private lessons. He has over 30 years of firearm handling, training and experience with handguns and long guns. Joe was chosen to work as a firearm instructor and trainer for select members of the Indianapolis Colts (NFL) security team. 

He is an NRA certified firearms instructor and an NRA certified CRSO (Chief Range Safety Officer). Joe also earned USCCA Certified Firearm Instructor (Concealed Carry & Home Defense), as well as USCCA Certified Training Counselor (Train the trainer) at the USCCA Headquarters in Wisconsin. 

Joe also has additional and advanced training and certifications under Mr. Matt Seibert of Insight Firearms Training, headquartered in Prescott, AZ. Mr. Seibert is considered one of the best firearm instructors in the country, having trained such elite cadre and members of Delta Force and Navy SEALs, as well as federal law enforcement agencies. Joe's training and certifications under Mr. Seibert include (Deadly Accuracy & Speed Shoot/Don't Shoot). 

Joe is also a graduate of the Sig Sauer Academy Executive Protection Operations (EPO) course in Epping, New Hampshire which is considered one of the best in the world. The course is based on the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. State Department EPO training, techniques and tactics to include developing plans, conduct travel routes and site surveys, motorcade operations, emergency action procedures, surveillance/counter surveillance techniques, use of force in protective environment, protective walking and driving formations and live fire drills in a protective detail and environment. He has also conducted several ABR (Always Be Ready) Academies for 5.11 Tactical at their Indianapolis location. He hosted free seminars on such topics as: Home Security & Defense, Emergency Preparedness, Tactical firearm fundamentals, Stop the Bleed and others. 

Joe's previous experience includes working for the Jail Division of the Marion County Sheriff's Department, where he attended the departments elite CERT School (Corrections Emergency Response Team) and was chosen as a member of the divisions Gang Intelligence Unit. In 1999, he decided to leave the Sheriff's department and pursue opportunities for global travel and adventure, visiting numerous countries and all seven continents. This included working on The Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge Adventure Race in Morocco, North Africa in 1998 and again in 1999 in Patagonia, Argentina. 

He was a sponsored mountain climber having climbed on six of the seven summits - the highest mountain on each continent with successful summits of Mt. Elbrus (Russia), Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt. Kosciusko (Australia). Two expeditions on Mt. McKinley (Denali), Mt. Aconcagua (Argentina) and one expedition on Mt. Vinson Massif (Antarctica). His lifelong goal still remains to climb Mt. Everest.
